🔰 Ammunic Systems: Powering India’s Defence Innovation

👩💼 Founders & Vision: Priyanka Singhal’s Mission for a Self-Reliant India
Founded in 2019 by Priyanka Singhal, an electronics and communication engineer from Amritsar, Ammunic Systems is a shining example of how vision and perseverance can transform a nation’s defence capabilities. With early exposure to business through her family’s ventures, Priyanka was inspired by her father’s entrepreneurial journey. Her mission is clear:
Make India self-reliant in defence technology by building indigenous, advanced munitions and electronics.

This aligns perfectly with the Make in India initiative, reducing dependency on foreign military imports and creating cutting-edge solutions made by Indians, for India.
💡 How the Idea Sparked: A DRDO Internship That Changed Everything
The foundation of Ammunic Systems was laid during Priyanka’s internship at DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation). There, she saw firsthand the technological gaps and untapped opportunities in India’s defence space.
What began as a college project quickly evolved into a serious business plan focused on electronic fuzes and advanced warheads. Initially named Tech Wave Solutions, the company was bootstrapped from scratch—Priyanka funded R&D by trading electronic components and taking up small-scale tech projects.
“The urgency to build modern, homegrown defence systems became clear, especially after seeing the limitations of outdated imported equipment,” says Priyanka.
🚀 Journey So Far: From College Project to Defence Powerhouse
Ammunic Systems has achieved several milestones in just a few years:
- ✅ Developed India’s first indigenous electronic fuzing system for underwater munitions—now deployed by the Indian Navy.
- ✅ Supplied 155 UAV-based munition systems to the Indian Army.
- ✅ Currently developing the third version of an AI- and sensor-enabled anti-tank mine.
- ✅ Built 7 advanced weapon systems to date, with 9 more in development.
- ✅ Supplies smart fuzing systems and components for aerial warfare.
These innovations have been successfully demonstrated to the Army, Navy, and DRDO, resulting in steady orders and establishing Ammunic Systems as a trusted name in India’s defence ecosystem.
💰 Bootstrapped Growth: A Self-Made Success Story

👩🔬 Women in Defence: Championing Gender Diversity
Priyanka is not only disrupting the defence tech sector—she’s breaking stereotypes too. With a strong belief in gender inclusion, she envisions a future where:
- 🚺 50% of Ammunic’s workforce is women
- 🌐 A flexible, inclusive workplace culture fosters creativity and leadership
“Defence isn’t just a man’s world. We’re building a space where women can thrive as innovators and leaders,” says Priyanka.
